Mark’s premise (and the prevailing scientific literature supports this) is that we can reprogram out genes’ expression or responses through the choices we make, by what we eat, our stress level, our sleep quality, how we live, and how we play.
He says, “Inside each of your cells is a DNA “recipe”– a set of general instructions for how to build a lean, fit, happy, productive human being. I say “general,” because how things actually play out in your life is a function of activating or deactivation thousands of very specific genes (which are subsets of DNA) on a day to day basis.”

Of course, the whole book is about these concepts and action items. In the back of the book he has created a day-by-day worksheet for you to use like a check in, or to log and score your progress. The most exciting part for me- is that through this 21-day transformation, you will notice changes in your body. IF you choose to, you can do it as a metabolic reset, a cleanse, or a detox. Or you may find that you feel so good, loosing pounds, or clearing the fog from your brain, that you choose to incorporate these five action items as a new way of being, or becoming. Whichever your path, rock it.
I have adopted the Primal Blueprint (Mark’s other book) as my preferred way of participating in my life, since 2015. I am leaner than ever, I play more, I eat better and have less sugar cravings. I like to do the 21-Day Total Body Transformation a couple of times each year as a way to to get real clean in my diet for at least 21 days and reset my metabolism.
