Day 35 – Today I am grateful for the humming birds.

365 Days of Wonderful – Day 35

Today I am grateful for snow, and the lovely humming birds that grace my life.

It started snowing yesterday, and kept on through the night and till about noon today. I looked at my camera and I don’t have a single shot! Say what?! I went for a walk in the icy morning, mostly to assess the conditions of the roads… they were ice. LOL But I had one client with four wheel drive, and she made it–and two others live within walking distance. So no snow day for me. I am grateful for clients that want to show up for their appointments. I love what I do. And I love my clients!

I woke up at about 4am… and could not sleep. I think it was because the reflection of the snow made it so light out. So I gave it up at 5a, and got up to do the dishes. I love doing the dishes in the morning. Then i set to scrubbing the stove top and before I knew it, I had taken the entire stove top apart and was cleaning under the burners… all before 6am! Crikee. Not really in my plan.

I did bring home some furniture yesterday… another craigslist score. I am slowly refurnishimg my home. I brought home two more pieces this weekend. Yay for recycling! I am grateful for the ability to purchase furniture that matches what I already have, when someone wants to let go of what they no longer need. So I put the shelves into my new book case, moved the books, moved the china into the other cabinet. I’m loving this new look. All of this was before 830a. LOL I guess I had the snow cleaning bug.

I love the power of craigslist–I am so grateful for the ability to shop, and reduce, reuse, recycle! I will be letting go of a night stand, corner cabinet china hutch, a desk, a dresser, and a book case. Pretty much all of my old furniture will be replaced slowly over time. I like finding new pieces, and then selling my old stuff. 🙂 yay.

Moving the china out of my old hutch, allowed me to display my Great Grandmother Edith’s Commode set! The pitcher, the Chamber Pot, Matching soap dish, small vase, and a small pitcher. The bowl, or basin is too big for the cabinet. Most of these items had been out of sight. I’m excited that they are now out of the closet! Can I also say that I am SO completely grateful for the flush toilet, and running water!!

Since it was frosty this morning I refilled the humming bird feeders, and put some seeds out for the birds. This little one buzzed me with a thank you and posed for pictures. I think he was hanging out waiting for me to defrost his breakfast! AND I had the dryer going, so I think he was enjoying the warmth on the side of the house. I am grateful for the hummingbirds presence in my life, and my yard–all year round. The birds in my yard bring me joy. _________________
