365 Days of Wonderful – Day 29
Tonight I am grateful for Toastmasters. I just came from a meeting–so fun. I was Toastmaster tonight… my first time in this role. I set the theme of the meeting: “Astronomically Speaking,” in honor of our recent Super Blood Wolf Moon Lunar Eclipse. The Joke Master wove in jokes with Astronomical references. The Table Topics Master also incorporated Astronomical questions in the topics she served up for discussion. The meeting was so fun.
I am so grateful for the sense of community. I am grateful for the shared laughter. I am grateful for the opportunity to better my speaking skills. I am grateful for the opportunity to hone my listening skills. I am grateful for the opportunity to step into a leadership role. I am grateful for the new jokes I learned. I am grateful for the feedback. I am grateful that someone counts my ands, buts and sos… Tonight my word of overuse was SO… So–anyways! Wish I could have thought to launch into song… SEW a Needle pulling thread… LA a note to follow SEW!…
It is so delicious to use new words and build my vocabulary. I appreciate the group camaraderie. I am grateful for the shared stories. There is SO much to be grateful for… and ALL of this in an hour and a half.
SO (LOL) If you are looking to find your voice, become a better speaker, hone your listening skills, or if you’ve got an upcoming wedding and you know there will be a toast… or maybe you want to tell better jokes, or just share laughs with new friends… Check out your local Toastmasters. It’s worthy of some gratitude.
