Day 22: I am grateful for the potential of new friends!

365 Days of Wonderful – Day 22

Today I am grateful for the potential of new friends. I love the feeling of being included and invited. Of course, I am grateful for my old friends, or friends–not matter what age they are, nor how long we’ve been acquainted. But today I celebrate the new friends I have yet to make.

I am grateful for the outreach that causes new friends. Today I got an invitation to a attend an event at someone’s home… this feels like a sweet outreach from a potential new friend. I know her in the community–we’ve crossed paths, and I love her energy. I am delighted to be thought of, and included in this way.

I am reminded that we can form new friends at any time. Yay! Makes me feel like I am 8, and I’m learning to become more confident with cartwheels. Cartwheels take courage. That’s the trick isn’t it? Can you remember doing cartwheels? It’s just you. Momentum, courage, and a running start…hands on the ground..feet in the air, and all kinds of faith that your all lined up and it will work! =0 Seems crazy at 53. I’d love to try a cartwheel again… some place grassy I think… Reaching out and making new friends can seem a bit daunting like this as well… A little momentum and some courage, it is the saying YES to the experience that counts…knowing that somehow my form may not matter as much as the faith.

I am saying YES to the potential of making new friends. Yes to the opportunity to gather at someone’s house, to laugh and make music, and harmonize with other like minded souls. I am completely delighted with the prospect. I am OH SO GRATEFUL for the invitation. And I am reminded how crucial it is to continue to reach out to new people, and invite and include them.

So IF you are interested in making new friends, remember that they are waiting for you to find them! I told a client recently to continue doing things she loves, and sit next to someone who is sitting alone at an event, say hello. You already have something in common! And remember how delicious it feels to be invited and included. So do some outreach as well. Invite someone new to do something. You never know where your next best friend is going to come from!

New friends are just strangers you have not met yet.
