About the event
Tea is an invitation for us to slow down, take a sip, taste, feel the warm comfort on that cold day, listen to our bodies, and relish the experience.  Herbal teas provide us with a way to support our health on a daily basis.  The more we sit and enjoy the experience of herbal teas, the more the herbs reveal themselves to us.  We can create a deeper relationship with herbs in this way.  Teas can speak to your body’s needs--if you listen.
One of the best ways to acquaint yourself with a tea or an herb is to start simple. Â Try one. Â Make a strong tea or an infusion. Â Drink one cup of that tea for an entire week (or month). Â Experience the taste, smell, feel, color and listen to how your body responds. Â Once you know how that herb works, then you will have a greater awareness of combining herbs for formulation.
Herbal teas are generally considered a beverage--not a medicine.  Medicinal teas are made by decoctions or infusions- a longer steeping and higher quantity of herb.  Herbal tea beverages are enjoyed for pleasure– offering subtle support emotionally and physically.  Often times, herbal teas contain aromatic herbs so that the flavor and aroma are enhanced.
In this class Erica will cover the basics of herb chemistry, tasting, making a formula, steeping, dosage, Â storage and preservation. Â You'll go home with 2 formulations: Â Winter Wellness Immunity Tea, Â and Winter Wellness Sore Throat Tea. Â Come settle in, learn, and savor a lovely cup of tea.
